Journalism: an international perspective
The theme of the AJE Annual Conference 2019 will focus on journalism education from an international perspective and we are calling for papers and presentations around the theme which will cover such topics as:
Designing a curriculum that is international in perspective: what can we do now to ensure our students are prepared for the future global challenges and opportunities? How does the curriculum position the role of international news today and in the future? How do we teach our students to tell the stories of diverse cultures? How do we respond to how the world reports the UK?
Research in journalism education: methodological approaches to researching journalism education from an international perspective; Developing international research bids; differing cultural and pedagogical approaches in journalism education.
Journalism education in a global context: How do we prepare students to work across borders and cultures? How we do as journalism educators engage with each other in an international context?
This list is not exclusive and we will consider any paper on the general theme.
Please send proposals for papers or presentations as 250 word abstracts* to AJE at assjrned@gmail.com by March 31, 2019 for consideration.
* abstracts which do not address the conference themes and which exceed the word count will not be considered.
