New AJE Chair Margaret Hughes has released a welcome message to mark her start in the role.

Margaret, Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Journalism and Journalism (Sport) degrees at University of West Scotland’s School of Media, Culture and Society, was named Chair at the Association’s AGM on Friday June 24, taking over from Professor Chris Frost.

Margaret said: “I am delighted and honoured to have been elected Chair and to represent the members of the Association for Journalism Education.

“Journalism education is one of the most dynamic disciplines within the academy and journalism educators are charged with the responsibility of enabling our students to meet the exacting demands of a news media that is in a state of change and flux.
