Sheffield Hallam University’s Dr Lily Canter is seeking lecturers who both teach journalism and continue to practice journalism for her latest research project.
The project is exploring how the academy informs the practice of journalism educators and whether teaching and researching journalism has an impact on how lecturers undertake their own freelance or part-time practice.
The research is exploring both the influence of pedagogy and research on practice and aims to turn the tables on a discipline which so often reflects on how personal journalism experience informs teaching and research rather than vice versa.
If you are a lecturer and/or researcher who is still working regularly as a paid journalist then Lily would like to hear from you. Your involvement would involve a short interview via telephone or in person and would be confidential and anonymous.
