This year’s AJE Summer Conference keynote speaker is Reach plc (formerly Trinity Mirror) digital editorial strategy director David Higgerson.
David – who began his career on the Lancashire Evening Telegraph – has more than 20 years experience in regional media.
He is currently playing a leading role in the the transformation of Reach’s digital presence and is responsible for developing Reach’s audience first newsroom strategy.
David’s speech will focus on how regional digital publishers can ‘make the important interesting’ and the use of analytics to build audience relationships.
He said: “Journalism is changing more rapidly than ever before as new sources of audiences emerge and new platforms for reaching readers command greater audiences.
“It’s vital as an industry than we work more closely than ever with the people who are helping to develop the journalists of the future, and I hope that by sharing how analytics and metrics are being used in new ways to build meaningful relationships with readers, we can explore how work together as an industry to create a stronger future for local journalism online.”
